2025 Year End Review

Taking a look back at what we're most proud of in 2025 and looking forward to in 2026

2025 was a year of meaningful growth and refinement for Am-Tran. Across our service regions, we expanded coverage, increased delivery volume, and strengthened relationships with both new and long-standing customers. At the same time, we invested in systems and communication tools that improved visibility, reliability, and overall service quality.

From launching new content initiatives to making our website a more useful resource and advancing operational efficiency behind the scenes, each step was aimed at delivering a more connected, responsive experience for the healthcare organizations we support.

Further growth in the Sacramento and Monterey Bay areas

Among the significant developments in 2025 was Am-Tran’s continued growth in the Sacramento Valley, from Yuba City to Fresno. Total number of deliveries increased by almost 60% and the driver coverage increased four fold. We have more customers in this area than we ever have, through both expansion from the SF Bay Area and Sacramento Valley businesses seeking coverage for both the Valley and SF Bay Area. This expansion should lead to greater efficiency throughout our service area.

Improved and Expanded Notifications

At the beginning of 2025, we had a vision of developing a methodology for improving the quality of service through text notifications. It was fully implemented by the end of the year. Accounts can now be customized such that a text message goes out at the time of pick up and includes a tracking link and information about the driver making the delivery. Then when the delivery is the next scheduled stop, a text alert is sent that includes a reliable estimated time of arrival. And finally, when the delivery is completed, all the proof of delivery information is added to the text string keeping everything in one place. It has enabled recipients to better plan their schedules and reduced the number of missed deliveries. It has been great!

New podcast

2025 marked the year Am-Tran started podcasting. Our goal was to provide insight on Am-Tran’s view of the logistics business. Our first of three episodes was about how outsourcing the delivery function actually increases a businesses control; the second was about how we can provide operational support for national laboratories; and the third was how Am-Tran’s unique approach to human resource management enables employees to gain valuable professional skills and build their careers. It was a great experience that we will build on in 2026.

Website increasingly dynamic

In 2025, we focused on making the website a more dynamic and informative reflection of who we are as a company and how we serve our clients. This included refreshing copy across the site to align with current company updates, evolving priorities, and clearly articulated values. We also expanded our service descriptions and built out dedicated pages for our primary service verticals, giving visitors clearer pathways to understand what we offer and how it applies to their needs. As a result, the website has become not just a digital brochure, but a practical resource for people seeking answers, context, and confidence in working with us. Looking ahead to 2026, we plan to continue this momentum by further developing content around specific industry verticals, creating even more tailored information that helps prospective clients quickly see where we can add value.

Meeting our goals

Going into 2025 we had a few specific goals:

  • improve route efficiency,
  • reduce service incidents,
  • and improve reporting.

We made incremental progress that had concrete results along each of these fronts. Two of our largest customers had multiple routes reorganized to account for shifts in demand; service incidents were reduced by new “direct to customer” text notifications which greatly enhanced the visibility of deliveries (customers can see the driver on the map) and the accuracy of ETAs; on the reporting front, we’re still providing customized reports and increasing the amount of information that can be directly accessed on-line. Each of these serves to enhance the value of the basic delivery service through more efficient pricing, improved functionality and access to key information.

Goals for 2026

Moving into the new year, we are setting our sights on a few things specifically:

Partner with More Institutional Labs

For Am-Tran to continue to drive efficiency within our geographic region, we need the large institutional labs to come on board at some level. They are leaders in what we do, and we can add value to their systems. With more than 100 dedicated drivers in the greater Bay Area, we have built a level of density that is compelling. It is a business we understand.

Build Greater Connectedness with Our Drivers.

This is the holy grail for Am-Tran. It is something that we have worked on for years, but because our fleet is largely disbursed, and we all have competing commitments, progress is slow. But these people are on the front lines; they tangibly improve patient experiences. We want these unsung heroes to thrive, and part of that is feeling connected to something meaningful. We will carry on.

Automate Strategically

We want to build systems that provide meaningful benefits and/or reduce errors. The notification system we implemented in 2025 is a great example. Now we are looking at software prompts to reduce service issues, and AI models to comb our database for better insight into our business. This is not about reducing labor cost. It’s about making our team smarter.

Conclusion

When we look back at what we’ve done, and think about what we can do in the future, our mission remains the same: we want to build a skilled medical courier network in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We are not all things to all people. We are one thing to one industry in a tightly focused geographic area. We have grown a lot in our over twenty years and are as excited about the future as we ever have been
